Situation
One of the top privately held food production companies was looking to streamline and automate it's Capital Appropriation Requests process. The manual and inefficient process of collecting approvals and signatures was laden with delays and was lacking visibility into where each approval was at any given time. Moreover, people's schedules and vacations caused significant headaches for the project stakeholders and management.

Solution
ValexConsulting worked with a number of departments including accounting, facilities, finance, etc. to arrive at a Metastorm BPM 7.5 process that incorporated all the internal business rules governing capital allocation on a corporate as well as facilities basis. The rules included notifications, role-based approvals, escalation, reminders, conditional approvals based on the capital thresholds, committee approvals based on the expenditure types and the breakdown of capital/expense.
